When Amy originally sold the house in 2015, she sold it to a family who renovated from top to bottom, while preserving some of the original parts, like original trim, some original flooring, and some original interior privacy doors. The renovations included removing the wall that separated the galley kitchen, with breakfast nook, from the dining room.

Amy selected pieces and improvements to maximize use of the new open floor plan that is perfect for entertaining, hosting events, and has plenty of natural light and multiple surfaces for bridal parties using the space to get ready for the big day.
All of the light fixtures were replaced for an updated look, and to match the design aesthetic that Amy’s designer, and cousin, Kelsey Pearl, carefully creased for the space. Under cabinet lighting was added to the coffee bar, while additional under cabinet lighting was installed in the kitchen, to brighten up the space.
These lights really are the perfect statement piece for the kitchen, while providing a ton of bright light.

The previous dining room light was nice, but added an “old world” touch, so it was replaced with a more modern fixture to tie in with the gold accents through the rest of the space.

San Romano quartz countertops were installed with hints of gold veining, which tie the whole space together. In the spirit of making the space not only aesthetically pleasing, but functional, the new countertops opened the kitchen up for counter seating for six, perfect for breakfast, or a less formal mealtime experience.

The counter stools are light weight, and easy to clean, but also match the warm wood tones present throughout the rest of the space. The dining chairs are modern, but simple, in an effort to blend in and add a pop of color. It is a fun coincidence that this style of dining chair is called “Palmer”.
